Elderly women of 86 year old died while visiting her son-in-law house in Odisha’s Puri. The women, identified as P. Lakshmi of Andhra Pradesh were declared death when she undergoes treatment at the local hospital in Gajam district. Her body was bought to Puri for her last rite.
According to the eyewitness, one of the security guard noticed Lakshmi slight movement while family and priest were preparing for the cremation. In a closer inspection it was found out that she was still alive and breathing.
The cremation was halted immediately and Lakshmi was rushed to Puri medical college and hospital. Where doctors confirmed she was alive and immediate treatment was carried out. The health condition of the women is critical as her brain response is negligible however her kidney and heart were properly function.
“As she did not open her eyes and there was no sign of breathing. We thought she was death and informed others in the locality, and arranged a vehicle to carry the body to Swargadwar crematorium at Puri form home for cremation.” Said, Dharma Sethi, a family member of the women.
