GUWAHATI, 20 Sept, News Desk: Private Institutes in Assam from now on cannot hike the fees according to their will and will have to ask for the state government’s approval for the same. The Assam government has taken this step in order to give some relief to the families who are already recovering from the Covid economic crisis. In order to cover the loss some private institutes incurred during the two years of Covid-induced turmoil in the country hiked their fees which infuriated the students and some of them even filed complaints against this malpractice of private institutes.
The Assam government came in support of these students and tightened its grip on the private institutes that are running a business out of education. In each academic year Private Institutes in Assam will now have to notify the fee structure and they will have to submit a report to the Fee Regulatory Committee before finalizing the fee structure.
