UNHRC to hold special session on Afghanistan next week ; sanctioned by eminent countries including India

Geneva (Switzerland) , August 18 : The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) will organise a special session on Tuesday, August 24, to address the “serious human rights concerns and situation in Afghanistan”. This session will take place in a hybrid format in Room XX of the Palais des Nations at 10 a.m and will be webcast live in six United Nations languages.

In order to convoke the 31st special session of the Council, 60 Observer States have supported so far , including France , Japan , India, Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

With reference to the session, the Council will convene an organizational meeting on the previous day , August 23 , Monday when distinctive details on the session and it’s scenario will be announced.
