Bursting of crackers are permitted from 8pm to 10pm in Assam, however only green crackers can be marketed. The announcement was made with a notice bearing signature of Diganta Borah, the Commissioner of Police, Guwahati.
Compared to ordinary crackers, green crackers are more environmentally friendly because they are produced using less polluted raw materials. In addition, they also decrease dust particles when burned due to their chemical aids.
Hazardous substances like arsenic, lithium, and barium are used in the majority of conventional firecrackers. Nonetheless, no such compounds are utilised in the production of green crackers.
