As Assam is all gear up for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for two days visit to the state. Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the Prime Minister visits as “highly significant” and “symbolic”. Prime Minister will landed to Assam this afternoon from West Bengal. During his visit he will lay a foundation stone and unveiled a development projects worth around 15,600 crore rupees to the state. Inauguration of The state-art Bamboo Orchids Terminal Building at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati will be done on his first day visit which is estimate to be the an amount of 4000cr . The new terminal is designed to handle up to 1.3 crore passengers annually. The terminal reflects Assam’s biodiversity and cultural heritage, Spread over nearly 1.4 lakh square meters, with under the theme “Bamboo Orchids”.
80 foot tall statue of former Chief Minister Gopinath Bordoloi at the Airport will also be unveil by the Prime Minister, and public address outside the airport is also scheduled followed by a massive road show leading by him towards the BJP Headquarter in the city and interaction with the party workers will also be taken place there. State Guest House is schedule for the Prime Minister to stay the night.
On day two, the Prime Minister will have an interaction with schools students on his programme Pariksha Pe Charcha while sailing on the Brahmaputra River aboard a cruise ship. After that Mr. Modi will visit the newly constructed Swahid Smarak Kshetra, in memory of 860 martyrs of Assam Movement in the city. The Prime Minister will then leave for Namrup where he will do Bhumi Pujana of the 12000 crore rupees Ammonia-Urea fertilizer project. He will also address a public meeting at Namrup before leaving for New Delhi.
