Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a range of cutting-edge medical services at AIIMS Guwahati, enhancing healthcare access in Northeast India. Key developments include deone delivery of medical supplies, a modern auditorium, and a state of the art radiotherapy block. These facilities aim to improve cancer care and provide specialized training for future healthcare professionals, marking a significant leap forward in patient care and medical education.
In celebration of Ayurveda Day, the PM initiated and laid the foundation stone of various health sector projects worth over Rs 12,850 crore across the countrt, while dedicating several important initiatives to Assam. The facilities inaugurated at AIIMS, Guwahati, have been worth around Rs 1,127 crore, officials said. The ceremony was attented by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, MPs, MLAs, state govt officials executive director of the institute prof Ashok Puranik and other staff members.
The inaugurated facilities included drone services for swift medical supply and delivery, a modern auditorium, a radiotherapy block- featuring a high energy linear accelerator, HDR brachytherapy unit and a 4-CT simulator.
