An American Airlines jet and a Black Hawk helicopter collided mid-air near Ronal Reagan Washington National Airport, crashing into the Potomac River. The collision occurred Wednesday evening as flight 5324 from Wichita, Kansas, was approaching the airport. Emergency services have deployed rescue boats to search for survivors, but the exact number of passengers remains unknown. All flights at the airport have been temporarily suspended. The FAA and NTSB Have launched investigation into the cause of the crash as authorities continue their search and rescue efforts in the river.
