Music reminds you to smile. The beauty in music is undeniable. June 21 is being celebrated as World Music Day. It is mentioned that the first World Music Day was celebrated on June 21, 1982. This was conducted in France by then French Minister of Culture, Jack Lange.
This year the theme for World Music Day is ‘Music on the intersections’. According to one of the wise musicians Billy Joel said, ”Musicians want to be the loud voice of so many quiet hearts”. Another American singer-songwriter James Taylor added, ”I believe music have a duty, a responsibility to reach out, to share your love or pain with others.” Noted artist from Assam Papon expressed his notion on World Music Day, ”It’s a good day to remind us that music is important.”
