New Delhi, August 5: On Wednesday in a rescue mission by the Indian Air Force, seven people who were stranded on a roof of a temple due to the overflowing in Sind River near Seondha in Datia district of Madhya Pradesh were rescued, and by the end of the day a total number of 46 people were evacuated.
As a part of flood relief operations the IAF helicopters airlifted 37 people from Narwar and Sunari areas of Madhya Pradesh and were shifted to safer places. The IAF also informed that the HADR ops will continue through the day in the rescue mission.
Shivpuri, Sheopur, Gwalior and Datia districts in Madhya Pradesh are badly affected by flood and related to this issue, today the MP Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a meeting with senior officials to discuss the deteriorated situation he observed during his visit to the flood affected areas at his residence.
In the meeting, the concerned authorities were directed to restore the power supply, provide proper food supply to the victims, make appropriate arrangements for prevention of diseases, improve the communication facilities and make alternative arrangements for broken bridges. As many people are left homeless with no access to any own resources, the CM directed to provide them with the best arrangements with priority in the relief camps.
The CM is continuously monitoring the flood affected areas and appropriate instructions and informations are given to the authorities of arrangements and rescue operations.
