New Delhi , October 6 : Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla today said that in the matter of strategic interests and global issues , the stable understanding and trust have led to more active and regular commitments between the two nations in the presence of US Deputy Secretary Wendy Sherman who is on a two-day India’s visit.
The two counterparts also exchanged views on regional issues relating to South Asia and the Indo-Pacific region. According to Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) , she will also take part in a special session of the India-Ideas Summit organised by the US India Business Council (USIBC).
“The partnership between India and United States is rooted in our shared values. We are both homes to innovators and entrepreneurs. We are both believers in the free, open, interconnected and resilient Indo-Pacific region” , said Sherman. She then added that the best way to protect peace and prosperity is by upholding and strengthening the rules-based international order. Sherman on Tuesday arrived at Delhi and will spend October 7 in Mumbai and then leave for Pakistan.
