India and Pakistan reached a mutual agreement of ceasefire after four days of precise missile strikes, drone incursion and artillery battle across the LoC and halt all the military action on land, air and sea with effect from the evening of may 10th. According to official statements from both the Indian army and Pakistan’s Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the agreement was finalized after high-level talks between military officials of both countries. The ceasefire is aim at de-escalating tensions and ensuring peace and stability in the border regions. The recent exchange of fire, which took place over the past few weeks, led to the loss of lives and damage to civilian infrastructure on both sides. Residents living near the LoC welcomed the ceasefire hoping it would restore normalcy in the region. However Pakistan violated the ceasefire agreement within hours. A day after this Pakistan had been “put on notice”. According to Indian defense sources, a Pakistani drone attempted to cross the line of control into Indian-administered territory late Sunday night, Just 48 hours after both nations agreed to the settlement. The drone was detected and intercepted by Indian Air Defense systems near the Poonch sector in Jammu Kashmir. However Pakistan has not officially responded to the allegations. Military sources in Islamabad downplayed the incident, claiming it was likely a misidentification or technical error.
