India and China have agreed to maintain “active and constructive communication” to ensure peace and stability along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), following a new round of high-level border talks between the two Nations. The meeting, held between senior military commanders, focused on reviewing the situation in friction points along the India-China border, especially in eastern Ladakh. Both sides discussed steps to prevent misunderstandings and reduce the risk of escalation.

According to official sources, the talks were held in a “friendly and candid atmosphere,” with both countries emphasizing the importance of dialogue and cooperation to maintain ground-level stability. The Indian delegation reiterated the need for complete disengagement and de-escalation at all remaining sensitive areas. China, on its part, agreed to continue discussions through both military and diplomatic channels to achieve mutually acceptable solutions. A joint statement released after the talks said both sides “agreed to maintain active communication through military and diplomatic mechanisms” and to “work toward maintaining peace and tranquility in the border areas.”

The meeting is part of ongoing efforts between New Delhi and Beijing to resolve tensions that began after the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, which severely strained bilateral relations. Since then, both countries have held multiple rounds of negotiations to restore normalcy along the disputed frontier. Officials from both sides are expected to meet again soon to assess progress and continue confidence-building measures.
