New Delhi January 7 : The Prime minister of India Narendra Modi inaugurated the second campus of Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute in West Bengal’s Kolkata. The second campus of Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute has built to expand and upgrade the health facilities in all parts of the country. The first campus has facing a heavy load of cancer patients and a need for expansion of the Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute.
The second campus will fulfill the needs of the patient through the second campus also work as a advanced Cancer research facilities will provide comprehensive care to cancer patients especially those from Eastern and North- Eastern parts of the country. According to Prime minister the second campus has been built at a cost over Rs 530 crores out of Rs 400 crores have been provided by the Union Government and the rest of the amount will pay by the West Bengal government, in the ratio of 75:25.
The second campus of Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute equipped with many modern facilities like Nuclear in Medicine (PET), 3.0 Tesla MRI , 128 slice CT scanner , Radionuclide therapy unit , Endoscopy suite, Modern Brachytherapy units etc.
