Digital Desk, August 8: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended Niti Aayog’s 7th governing council meeting on August 7. This was addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Many dignitaries including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman attended the council meeting. Chief Ministers from various states were also present during the meeting.
Significantly, Himanta Biswa Sarma spoke about the implementation of National Education Policy-2020 and farm sector at the meeting. Sarma stated, ”The Niti Aayog meeting discussed ways to produce oil and pulses along with paddy to cut their import. The meeting also had a detailed discussion on NEP-2020 and urban governance. I spoke on NEP-2020 and modernization of agriculture in Assam at the meeting.”
