A nationwide campaign initiated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and various government bodies such as, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) launched from September 25, 2025, to December 25, 2025, to promote Swadeshi products.
The main objective is to make the use of indigenous products a mass movement and a daily habit among all Indians to strengthen local industries, create jobs, and contribute to national growth and self-reliance towards Viksit Bharat.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi who emphasis “Vocal for Local” and “Make in India” is the core philosophy of the campaign and help building the country an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Government bodies, particularly the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) are actively supporting this vision by organizing events like the “Khadi Diwali Mahotsav”.
Related initiatives such as the “Khadi India-SBI RuPay Prepaid Gift Card” are also launched to promote digital purchases of indigenous goods. Various programs, workshops, fairs, and awareness drives are being held across the country. Party workers and government officials pledges to use ‘made-in-India’ products and promoting the idea of having “Har Ghar Swadeshi”.
The campaign considers all items manufactured within India, including those produced by foreign companies operating in the country, as ‘Swadeshi’.
