Digital Desk, April 26: Assam Police re-arrested Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani after getting bail in a case related to a tweet on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. This time the Dalit leader is accused of assaulting a police woman. ”We are absolutely surprised. There was not a whisper about the assault on an official whisper about the assault on an official when he (Mevani) was under police custody (in Kokrajhar) for three days. Suddenly after he was granted bail, he was shown as rearrested,” Mevani’s lawyer Angshuman Bora said.
The police woman alleged that the MLA used abusive words inside the vehicle whereas Mevani told that the BJP and the RSS have serious problems with Dalits. They did it with Rohith Vemula and Chandrasekhar Azad and now they are targeting Mevani.
