Digital Desk, July 9: ”Today, Shri Sachindra Nath Baishya, ALMS, Controller, Legal Metrology, Assam has been caught red handed by a team of @DIR-VAC-ASSAM while accepting demanded bribe money of INR 25,000. Further lawful action is being taken,” GP Singh, Assam Special DGP Law and Order, tweeted on July 8.
Moreover, the tweet added ”In further searches, INR 3,23,850 and 3,19,000 have been recovered from his office room and residential home respectively,” Notably, the Controller was caught red-handed in a trap by a team of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam in the office of Legal Metrology, Assam located in RK Mission Road, Ulubari. The Controller was allegedly caught taking bribe for the issuance for a license to open a shop for selling weights and measuring equipment.
