CII, Serum Institute join hands to accelerate vaccination covering small towns, rural areas

New Delhi, July 30 : In a release issued by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Friday, the CII has come in an agreement with Serum Institute of India to expand vaccination in collaboration with industry, including healthcare providers. It also said that the vaccination drive will target communities in India’s small towns and rural areas to ensure extensive coverage.

T V Narendran , President of CII mentioned that India’s post-pandemic growth critically rests on how soon the eligible population is vaccinated and economic activities can return to normal.

Commencing from July 23, a total of 34,75,301 (3.4 million) single doses have been operated through 430 camps held nationwide by the CII which is now surveying the vaccination requirement and setting up vaccination camps centering on reaching tier 2/3 small towns and rural areas.
