California, August 17: The drought in California is affecting almond growers. California’s deepening drought threatens it’s $6 billion almond industry, which produces about 80 percent of the world’s almonds.
Almonds are water intensive crops, and the drought is hurting the farmers and this bring the farmers to leave their fields implanted to save water for their almonds. And thus may cause the almond production get drunk, which could lead to higher prices.
Due to if uncle to afford water, some growers have stopped irritating their orchards, and letting the trees to die.
California produces 80 percent if the almonds consume worldwide, thus drought takes toll on world’s top almond producer.
Almond orchards are thirsty crop that need water year round, clashing with worsening drought and intensifying heat waves tied to climate change.
A lot of growers are having to go through a stressful time alive. The drought is draining California’s reservoirs, leaving less water for cities and farms. The trees are not getting the demand of water they should get.
