Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Guwahati today at 11:00 am a scheduled which was initially on August 29 was revised to two-day visit tour. During which he will lay the foundation stone for the second complex of the Assam Legislative Assembly, including the newly constructed MLA residential complex and other buildings inside the campus.
He also will attend the Assam BJP’s core committee meeting to deliberate on issues concerning the Upcoming Assembly elections this year and also dedicate a major water resources project to the people.Shah will will spend the night in Dibrugarh for the major events of the visit and will be inaugurating the first phase of Assam’s largest multidisciplinary sports stadium in Khanikar, Dibrugarh.
The sports stadium, at a cost of ₹233 crore on 104 bighas of land, a seating capacity of 35,000 as one of the most ambitious sports infrastructure projects taken up in the state. After which he will travel to Dhemaji district to attend a cultural festival of the Mising community.
On Friday, Shah’s schedule includes the inauguration of the newly constructed Brahmaputra wing of the Raj Bhavan. followed by the e-inauguration of the National Cyber Forensic Laboratory and the e-inauguration-cum-foundation laying of multiple development projects for the ITBP, SSB and Assam Rifles.
In the evening, he will inaugurate the birth centenary celebrations of Golap Borbora, Assam’s first non-Congress Chief Minister, before departing for New Delhi.
“Shah will discuss preparations for the forthcoming Assembly elections, which are very important for the party. He takes a keen interest in state polls,” said, the state Chief Minister.
