Digital Desk, August 22: There are only 6 government drug rehabilitation centres in the state. We need more drug rehabilitation centres to war against drugs. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated, ”The BJP-led government at the Centre was effectively combating a crucial war against the drug menance in the country.”
War against drugs would be incomplete if the government does not build rehabilitation centres in every district. Regarding this, a senior official of a private drug rehabilitation centre stated, ”The Assam government has failed in providing rehabilitation and reducing the demand for drugs in Assam. The police keep seizing drugs but are unable to track down the location and details of the senders and receivers.”
