6 Injured In A Clash At Assam-Arunachal Pradesh Border

Digital Desk, August 17: In Assam’s Lakhimpur district, a group of miscreants reportedly attacked a Village Defence Party. Notably, the incident took place in Rupahi Rajgarh area. Meanwhile, at  least 6 VDP members were injured in the incident. Regarding this, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, ”The state has boundary disputes with Arunachal Pradesh at 1,200 places.”

It may be noted that Assam and Arunachal Pradesh shares a long border of 804.1 km in the districts namely Udalguri, Biswanath, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Tinisukia, Dibrugarh and Charaideo. In 1987, Arunachal Pradesh officially received the recognition of a state. Arunachal Pradesh was administered by the Centre even after the independence.
