Digital Desk, July 22: The Civil Aviation Ministry said on July 21 that airlines can’t charge an additional fee for issuing a boarding pass at the airport check-in counters. It may be noted that many airlines charge Rupees 200 as a fee at the present time.
Civil Aviation Ministry added, ”It has come to the notice of MoCA (Ministry of Civil Aviation) that airlines are charging additional amounts from the passengers for issuing boarding passes.” The Ministry further included, ”The airlines are advised not to charge any additional amount for issuing boarding passes at check-in counters in the airport, as the same can not be considered within the ‘tarrif’ as provided under Rule 135 of the Aircraft Rules, 1937.”
