Digital Desk, June 30: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray steps down from his post on Wednesday. He also steps down as Member of the Legislative Council-9. Thackeray quits his post days after eight-day political crisis. The MVA (Maha Vikas Aghadi) government is reduced to minority. The floor test ordered by Governor becomes void since Uddav Thackeray resigns from the post of Chief Minister. BJPs Devendra Fadnavis is likely to stake claim to form government, with Eknath Shinde as his Deputy.

A rebel Shiv Sena MLA from Eknath Shinde camp added, ”The resignation of Uddhav Thackeray is not a matter of joy for us.” Notably, Thackeray submits resignation to Governor after the Supreme Court refuses to stay floor test. The Supreme Court rejected Uddhav Thackeray’s plea and also refused to stay the floor test in Maharashtra assembly. ”The State President of the NCP used to go to our area and announce the names of the people. It was because of us that these people came to power… Every evening Sanjay Raut was abusing (the Centre). People got upset. We prayed that no party should have such as spokesperson,” Deepak Kesarkar added.
