Ajit Pawar Funeral Live Updates: The funeral of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar, who died in a plane crash in Baramati on Wednesday, is being held today. Several senior leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and NCP patriarch Sharad Pawar, are attending the cremation rituals. The Maharashtra government has announced three days of state mourning to honour the veteran leader, fondly known as ‘Dada’. The last rites of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar are being performed with full-state honours at Vidya Pratishtha Ground in Baramati, his electoral stronghold.

Ajit Pawar’s wife and Rajya Sabha MP, Sunetra Pawar, along with his two sons- Rohit and Jay- performed the last rites as a sea of supporters gathered at the cremation ground to catch a last glimpse of their leader.

Union Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin attended the leader’s funeral.

Meanwhile, a funeral procession was carried out from his Khatiwada home to Vidya Pratishtha Ground as supporters of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) poured in to bid an emotional farewell to Ajit ‘Dada’. Pawar, the longest-serving Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and senior NCP leader, died in a tragic plane crash in Baramati on Wednesday. The NCP leader, 66, was among five people killed when a chartered Learjet 45, operated by Delhi-based VSR Ventures, burst into flames while attempting to land in poor visibility at Baramati Airport. Along with Pawar, his personal security officer Vidip Jadhav, flight attendant Pinky Mali, Pilot-in-Command Sumit Kapoor, and Second-in-Command Shambhavi Pathak, were also on board the ill-fated plane.
