As the state general legislative assembly election 2026 is approaching, all parties and ministers have geared up for the upcoming election likewise, the public too have their opinion and grievances towards the ruling government and its governance.
To find out the rough opinion and mood of the public about the present government and its governance, popularity, support to the political leaders, candidates among the voters and the overall electoral trends across the states and assembly constituencies on the state Assam.
Questionnaire and telephonic communication were used to collect the sample on this survey and here is what we found among the voters and their opinion and the result. 80.3% Satisfied with the performance of the government.72.19% agrees on improvement and development in their constituency compared to the previous ruling government. 93.33% satisfied on government initiative against illegal land encroaching. 87.7% agrees on the government recruitment process being conducted in a fair and transparent manner. 77.39% Level of corruption decreased in comparison to the past government and the present. 87.15% thinks BJP party likely to form the government in the upcoming election. Himanta Biswa Sarma with 75%,Preference for the next Chief Minister of Assam and Gaurav Gogoi with 23%, and Sonowal with 2% .
From the survey above, the ruling government seems to hold an upper hand when it comes to public opinion. Meanwhile, for the opposition party, the 2026 election seems to be one giant task laying ahead in their mission of winning the state election.
