Acting on tip off the (EGPD) East Guwahati Police District from Dispur Ps raid a rented house near zoo road and recovered (FICN) Fake Indian Currency Note amounting to ₹36,45,000. the team also recovered counterfeit currency along with a printer machine, printing papers and several items suspected to have been used for producing counterfeit notes.
Three individuals were detained for their alleged involvement in the racket and identified as Sufiya Khatun (28), of Barpeta district, Mainul Ali (30), from Bihpuria and Mahidul Bhiyan (29), from Barpeta.
According to officials, the trio had been staying in the rented house and were suspected to be engaging in printing and circulating fake currency in different parts of the state. Shared, in the official ‘X’ handle by the police on 19 Nov. Legal procedure has been initiated for further investigation to determine the networks and its extent said, the police in charged.
