Mangaluru (Karnataka) , August 25 : Alarms about environmental degradation of Mangaluru’s Panambur beach , have been raised due to debris material , including plastic , littering the area. It is one of the prominent beaches in coastal Karnataka. Numerous residents of the area are highly dejected with the condition.
While speaking to mediapersons , environmental activist Y Baikampady stated that the beach used to cleaned up everyday yet it has now been not managed by the authority for the last two years which has resulted in piling up such waste on the beach.
Meanwhile , locals are seen even avoiding moving near the messed up area. Y Baikampady then added , “People from various places come here regularly. We need co-operation from an authority. I hope that the department of tourism looks into the matter”.
