Five members of a family were killed and two others injured when their car rammed into a stationary truck on Thursday in eastern UP on national highway. The incident took place at Puraina crossing when the family was on their way to Jharkhand from Lucknow.
Two passengers the driver and a girl have survived the car crash that took place in Basti district. They both were rushed to the hospital for better treatment. The girl is safe but the driver condition is quite critical.
Alok Prasad, Circle Officer (CO) Kalwari, said the car was moving at a high speed when it crashed into the container truck. The car was completely damaged by the impact of the accident. Rescue officials had to use a crane to take out the car from underneath the truck.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has condoled the death and has instructed officials to provide proper treatment to the injured.
