While the flyover construction work of Zoo road has completed and two months have already passed the footpath still has potholes, cracks or debris on them. As the pavement is still under reconstruction many segments of the road have also shrunk as a result pedestrians have been facing trouble walking through the broken and under-construction footpaths. Adding to this situation, broken cables or wires have also been lying dangerously and during the night time or poor light conditions the cables are not even visible which has made the movement of the pedestrian more difficult..
Apart from this, construction materials used in the flyover and footpath are lying scattered on the main road which has made movement of bikers or other vehicles on the road risky which can lead to major accidents on several occasion. Although, Guwahati is known as a smart city yet its reality doesn’t match the claim.
